Perhaps adding some descriptions may help?
Perhaps when hovering with the mouse over the choice?

Choices:

- Legacy (some functions may be missing)
- Cairo  (unaccelerated, may be slow)
- OpenGL (accelerated, may not work)

this is the general idea...
