For more than a year KiCad has had the ability to export
IDF models for use in MCAD. I personally use the IDF
export feature all the time and I know at least 2 others
who do as well although they don't subscribe to any of the
mailing lists.

Is there any interest out there in creating IDF model
files to complement the VRML work?
