Hi,
Thanks for packaging KDE for Ubuntu! That is much appreciated.
You are no doubt aware of the following issue: the Kubuntu PPAs are
missing Source files. This causes a 404 error in "apt-get update"
and aptitude. Unfortunately, the 404 triggers a bug in the Xenial
version of aptitude that causes that program to hang indefinitely
(see Ubuntu bug #1634372).
In particular, having the following lines present in
/etc/apt/sources.list causes this problem:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu yakkety main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu yakkety main
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu yakkety main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu yakkety main
Running "apt-get update" gives the following error and warning
lines:
W: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu yakkety Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Data from such a repository can't be authenticated and is therefore potentially dangerous to use.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

Could you please look into these errors and warnings. They are
present not only for the "yakkety" release, but for previous
releases of Ubuntu as well.
Yours truly,
John Zaitseff
