For my taste, that script does too much autodetection; If I want to know
what files have been modified and not committed, I don't want it
comparing against the previous pipe or the lower thread. Similarly, if
I want to know what files have changed compared to the previous pipe, I
don't want it to show me only the files that have been modified and not
committed.
Also, when I want to compare with the LCA of another branch, I want to
see changes relative to the submit branch ("what's going to happen when
I land this?"), not the parent ("what changes have I made since I
branched from parent?"), most of the time.
