I just looked at the https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GnuPrivacyGuardHowto link, and it is the same as https://help.launchpad.net/ImportingYourOpenPGPKey?action=show
was, i.e., it does not help users of software FROM launchpad, it only helps the folks putting info INTO launchpad.

so launchpad still needs a page on using the asc files and getting keys
to verify the asc files with.

https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/ImportingYourPGPKey?action=show
