I've updated my Ubuntu One python-oops testing branch (lp:~jamesh/ubuntuone-servers/python-oops) to make use of this code.  I had some problems getting everything working unrelated to the python-oops code, so haven't tested this out against any of the async views though.

For anyone else thinking to test this, note that you don't want the python-bson package from Ubuntu: python-oops is using http://pypi.python.org/pypi/bson, which has a different API.
