Thanks Colin,

I like the XRef approach instead of another specific link-table (uniform schema open for changes), but William's opinion would have a lot more weight than mine.

The lack of API symmetry for bzr MP can be tolerated, because as you mentioned clients are more like to follow Branch -> MP direction.
