write a virus for Ubuntu, too. It might be considerably harder, most
hackers seem to concentrate on Windows, etc., but none of this can
replace the user's prudence.

Yes, that is true. Anything is possible, in fact.
 But right now, a virus is something that most regular Ubuntu users does not really need to worry too much about at the point to need an antivirus software for desktop. But as you properly said, nothing can replace the user's prudence.
