Maybe this is a silly question (or series of them), but...

Weren't the launchpad lists released to the general public with the 1.2.3 release?

If so, why aren't you sure that the issues are resolved?  If not, then why did it get released with known (presumably major, if you're not activating new ones) issues?

The "issues", as I understand it, are just in the way the CC would like lists to work for Ubuntu, not that the Launchpad team released broken software.

What are the issues?

I think the main one is that you must be a member of the team to post to a team mailing list. In Ubuntu we will often want to allow anybody to subscribe to the mailing list.

Apologies if i'm totally off base here - this is just what i'm getting from reading this ML.

This is a matter of "doesn't have all the features we want so we are not recommending a mass transition", not "OMG Launchpad killed my ML!!!"

This is the launchpad-users mailing list archive — see also the general help for Launchpad.net mailing lists.
