When people visit a source package page, they probably have a particular
goal in mind already -- for example, to report a bug about that package.
So doing the linking then would be a distraction.

But if <http://launchpad.net/ubuntu> and
<http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick> were more interesting hubs for
Ubuntu development, including a random selection of "Things you can do",
linking a package to its project would be one example of something quick
a contributor could do.
