Re: Migration planning

Hello Oliver,

Congratulation on growing the project so much you need better hardware ;)
Seven years ago already? Damn...

I didn't even know we had a matrix thing to be honest, and never used this protocol. Never used Slack either. From my point of view less and less people are using Slack, preferring Teams instead (which I *won't* recommend).

Anyway, use what you think is best for the project :)

Hey folks!

It's been pretty silent on this list lately. :-(
I just wanted to let you know that I opened a ticket with Fedora Infra to get a new server. While I'm happy we see more adoption, there are some really heavy sites now leading to higher load and decreased responsiveness.

Anyway, ticket is here: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/ issue/12578 <https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/12578>

I don't know if clime can support the move or not (I really hope he can). Anyway, once we have everything up'n'running I hope we can get some eyes on the new setup to see if everything works as expected.

Additional question: Do we want to stay on Matrix or do we want to loo into a (free) Slack instance? More and more people are using Slack and it's my primary tool for communication these days, so I would be very willing to switch :-)

Looking forward to hearing from the crew - I can't believe it's already over 7 years ago we came together and rescued Libravatar. My very first commit to the new "ivatar" source was on 7th of May 2018. 🥳

Oliver
