Hi Bjoern, thanks for the reply.
a) I just fully uninstalled all libreoffice related packages I had
installed, did an apt update and tried to reinstall libreoffice from
scratch with the 3.x ppa enabled but it wont install at all now even
if I disable the 3.x ppa so I think theres something else wrong. Its
odd because I dont have any extra repos other than stock Ubuntu and
3.x ppa that would have libreoffice packages. I get the error below
with the 3.x ppa enabled and disabled now, so I dont think its ppa
related as you said.
b) When I go to install 'libreoffice' from synaptic I get the prompt
to approve the following dependencies: libhsqldb-java,
libservlet2.5-java, libxerces2-java, libxml-commons-external-java,
libxml-commons-resolver1.1-java, uno-libs3, and ure so I mark/approve
them and then get the following error:
libreoffice:
Depends: libreoffice-core but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libreoffice-writer but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libreoffice-calc but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libreoffice-impress but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libreoffice-draw but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libreoffice-math but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libreoffice-base but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libreoffice-filter-mobiledev but it is not going to be
installed
Depends: libreoffice-java-common but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: libreoffice-gnome but it is not going to be installed or
libreoffice-kde but it is not going to be installed
Thanks,

Hi, Im sure you guys probably already know but just wanted to report
it just in case. It looks like upgrading on the latest Libreoffice
3.5.x ppa for Precise is broken for some reason, looks like a
dependency issue. Are there any known workarounds?
No such issues are known and there are reports of happy users of the
upgrade. Please:
a/ make sure you didnt hit a transient issue when the package was
deployed to the ppa
b/ report back with details if the problem persists
Best,
