We pushed a fix to trunk for this problem (http://bazaar.launchpad.net
/~lightdm-gtk-greeter-team/lightdm-gtk-greeter/trunk/revision/265).

You could use our daily PPA (https://launchpad.net/~lightdm-gtk-greeter-
team/+archive/daily) to test whether this problem is now indeed fixed.
