[Bug 1495332] Re: 15.10: No keyboard input on startup
Ok, after a few test I'm not sure if is completely related to the boot speed, but I'm quite sure is part of the problem, because booting with a fresh install on an old sata2 hdd I don't have any problem with the keyboard.
Let me explain: I'm using an HP Pavilliion dv2700 notebook, and all works fine except for a random faulty shutdown.
Trying to analyze the problem I check with 'hwinfo' and I found:
unknown:
FPU
DMA controller
keyboard controller
Intel 82801H (ICH8 Family) SMBus Controller
Then I've plugged in my external USB keyboard and I was able to login without issues all the time I've check.
With the internal keyboard I need to wait 10-15 seconds before be able to input my password.
What log/info do you need to track down this issue?

Title:
15.10: No keyboard input on startup
Status in lightdm-gtk-greeter package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Installed via using lubuntu-desktop. kubuntu-desktop also installed.
When the greeter first starts there is no keyboard input. It won't
even accept Ctrl+Alt+F1 to switch to VT tty1.
If the mouse pointer is moved around the focus indicator follows it;
hover over the Password box and its focus indication is shown and the
pointer changes to a caret but no keyboard input is accepted.
User has to use the mouse to click on a button, drop-down combo, or
applet icon in the task-bar to gain keyboard input.
There are no indications in the lightdm logs of a greeter input issue.
