2 different modes of handling the background-image are currently available.
#zoomed: and #stretched:

#zoomed is default, zooms the image and preserves the aspect ratio
#stretched uses the whole image and ignores the aspect ratio, it stretches the background to the actual size

example usage:
background=#stretched:/usr/share/pixmaps/lightdm-background.jpg
