The delta from:

lightdm-gtk-greeter (2.0.9-0ubuntu3.1) plucky; urgency=medium

  * debian/control: Depends on the non transitional polkitd

Is not the only delta in this package.  I see at least the file
debian/01_ubuntu.conf would be dropped.

I suggest to look at the last merge that was done:

  * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining changes:
    - debian/{01_ubuntu.conf,60-lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf,rules} add and
      install.

      + Build-Depends on liblightdm-gobject-1-dev instead on
        liblightdm-gobject-dev as it's non-existing in archive.
      + Install desktop-base as a suggestion, not as a recommendation
        (LP: #1669818)
      + Remove Breaks/Replaces on older budgie-lightdm-theme, lightdm,
        and lightdm-gtk packages
    - debian/copyright: update copyright for lightdm-gtk-greeter.
    - debian/patches/git_indicators_loading.patch,
      debian/patches/git_libexec_atspi.patch,
      debian/patches/git_new_systemd.patch:
      + Dropped, included upstream.

  Ubuntu(2.0.9-0ubuntu3.1) is currently carrying diff in d/control on adding non transitional polkitd deps, which debian already included in the latest version

  In this case, there is no need for the diff we carry. We should sync
  lightdm-gtk-greeter rather than merge with the latest Debian version
  (2.0.9-1)
