[Bug 729179] Re: Can't print specific types of pages (cross-platform issue)
Maverick again upgraded, now 12.0.742.91 (87961) Built on Ubuntu 10.10,
running on LinuxMint 10
Still can't print maps, shipping labels, postage etc. Works fine on
Firefox, therefore still using Firefox.

Title:
Can't print specific types of pages (cross-platform issue)
Status in Chromium Browser:
New
Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: chromium-browser
Chrome & Chromium Stable (at least) all versions 8.x & 9.x have been unable to print certain types of pages which are designed to be printed. This is a cross-platform issue; there are reports found from at least Linux & Windows that I've seen.
Problem pages include many major websites on the Net who generate custom, on-demand pages designed to be printed, including:
Google Map Directions
Mapquest Map Directions
Amazon shipping data
United States Postal Service labels
PayPal/Ebay Shipping Labels
Static pages seem to print just fine, it's only these generated on-the-fly pages that fail.
Here are just a few of the other reports:

As for myself, I'm using Mint 10 (Ubuntu Maverick Gnome), I have the
same failure with any version of Chromium Stable or Chrome Stable,
using my HP Laserjet 4L--all other programs print fine with this
printer . Like reporters on other platforms, if I simply switch to
another browser, (firefox for example) these pages print perfectly.
For me, the printed error messages all look similar to:
Error: /unknownerror in --.postinstall--
Operand stack:
--dict:7/16(l) --di
Thanks,
Lance
