I have removed melt ffmpeg and OpenShot and updated OpenShot with a PPA.
This didn update melt and ffmpeg. How do I get new versions of them?
Which PPA's?

  OpenShot unable to select middle part of .MTS files

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  New

Bug description:
  When I select a middle part of imported .MTS file, the resulting
  fragment has the correct part for the audio, however the selected part
  of the video is from the start.

  Input format: .MTS (AVCHD), 1280x720, from Parasonic Lumix TZ7
  Output format: Web - Vimeo SD Widescreen - Square NTSC Widescreen - Average
  Platform: OpenShot 1.3.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 on Intel Q8300
