[Bug 842827] Re: Program freezes and crashes at random

I think I know about the INVALID problem. It may have been that your
video files were in a location that was previously mounted, but is now
unmounted.

For me, it works like this: I start a new project, add a file in my
windows partition to the project (the partition mounts automatically
when I search for the file in the import window), save the project and
shut down the computer. I start the computer and open the project, and
find out that my files are INVALID. That is because the partition
unmounts when rebooting.

If you have the files on an unmounted volume, try mounting the volume,
which is easiest done by just clicking on it in the file manager and
then you restart OpenShot. The files should now be available.

Title:
Program freezes and crashes at random

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  New

Bug description:
My students have been using OpenShot on their Linux-based laptops to
complete a movie for class. Each group reported significant problems
with the program crashing and/or freezing at random while trying to
edit work and work not explicitly save is lost. We are working on
Ubuntu 11.04. One student's program loses the read marker line in the
tracks when he zooms in beyond two-minute increments. Overall, my
students are now turned off by opensource software and want to work on
Macs and use iMovie. Please help me restore faith in opensource. I
cannot find a reliable movie-making/movie-editing program for Linux!
