You should update your version of Openshot because it is an old version.

  2. Installation method via Ubuntu software centre
  3. Openshot version: 1.1.3

  I don't know how to explain what the bug actually is, as per the link
  above I was just cutting, moving the file and saving for approx an
  hour before the program would close and I'm unable to open it again
  without restarting my laptop.

  My apologies if this has been reported already, I've not savvy with
  understanding how to report bugs or the language used therein.
