Title:
11.04 HDMI audio broken for some hardware
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
New
Bug description:
HDMI audio works fine with all of my hardware when running 10.04 or
10.10, with minimum tweaks to get it going from a fresh install. I
have to build an /etc/asound.conf file and use alsamixer to unmute and
turn up several volume settings and that's it, then this command will
play a test sound over the HDMI:
aplay -D plughw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Noise.wav
I've spent a good two hours and launched this thread with much more
detail about the problem at ubuntu forums. There are at least two
others posters to that thread in the same situation as me.

My motherboard is a Biostar TForce TF70505-M2, with onboard HDMI,
details here:
http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=TForce%20TF7050-M2
I'd appreciate seeing a fix on this and am willing to help out with a
bit of testing. I'm getting close to just rolling back to 10.10 for
now though.
