[Bug 854426] Re: Mythbuntu 11.10 Beta1 fails to install on AMD A8-3850 system
Not fixed in Beta 2 for me.
I'm having the same problem of the install not going past the Remote setup screen, even with Beta2.
Also using an AMD system. I tried both the 64 and 32-bit ISOs.
System:
loading system from a USB flash drive created with Unetbootin 555
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+
1GB RAM
LCD monitor resolution: 1440x900 pixels (had no problems with dialog box size)
BIOS Date 09/25/2006
Vendor American Megatrends Inc. (www.ami.com)
Version P2.30
Board Name 939Dual-SATA2
I tried both a normal frontend and backend install and also a frontend only install, same problem.
The continue button lights up and can be pressed once when you get to the Infrared Remote screen, but the install never continues beyond that point.

Title:
Mythbuntu 11.10 Beta1 fails to install on AMD A8-3850 system
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Fix Released
Bug description:
I tried installing Mythbuntu 11.10 Beta1 a couple of days back on a
new AMD A8-3850 box that I built but the install screen hangs after
getting to "remote control" selection page. Both back and continue
buttons do not respond.
Screen resolution is also a mixed bag but I can live with it as long
as install completes. I also tried booting into "Install" option. It
failed with this option too. To make matters worse the install window
is too huge to fit into my 1080p screen. I have to move the window
using ALT+mouse in order to select options and click "OK" button.
If you need lspci or any other output let me know. I will boot into
"live" mode and get these logs.
