Normal. You must use the version of FFmpeg which is in the Medibuntu repository.
It is for licence problem and you  'll have access to the H264 and MP3 too.
After to add this repository, you should take a look at this FAQ too, she could help you to install the good packages. Don't worry, if your package manager de-install some packages and install some others to the place.
