I downloaded and compiled the latest MLT on 23 dec 2011. This version
worked with MTS files in kdenlive (which also uses MLT like OpenShot).

  White Frames Between .MTS clips

Bug description:
  I make HD videos with a JVC camcorder. When I try to render the .MTS clips to an .mpg video there are always two white frames between two .MTS clips ... Verrry annoying!! ;-((
  I use Ubuntu 10.10 and have OpenShotVideo installed through the standard Ubuntu Software Centre 
  I use OpenShotVideo version 1.3.0
  When I check the rendered file with Avidemux there are always two white frames between every two .MTS clips
