Difficult to give you an answer on a specific hardware in the actual
situation.

You have one if so which ?

What give you your system like information  about her ? (dmesg,
lsmod,...)

On Openshot the support of V4l2 is considered but globally, not for a specific hardware.

So I'm wondering me if it is the same bug report in this description.

For this product, Bluecherry seems to have developed their own
application available for Ubuntu (http://www.bluecherrydvr.com/) that
you should try.

  2) with free software drivers (GPL'd) and h.264 encoding:

  but there is still no user-friendly way to record vidio from these
  cards!
