[Bug 913530] Re: Change the extension matroska by mkv
Because OpenShot gets the list of format and codecs from MLT, and MLT
gets the list from a FFmpeg command line (ffmpeg -formats), this is a
very tricky to fix issue. Perhaps, if someone finds the time, they can
create an XML file to help provide "Common Names" for many of the more
popular formats:
For example: libx264 should be "H.264".

Title:
Change the extension matroska by mkv
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Hi,
A ask of a French user done on two forums and that I have even seen at the RMLL 2011 at Strasbourg for a tiny issue.
Indeed, when we are using the Advanced tab in the export screen to create a matroska format (for sample, matroska, libx264, aac) we have an extension .matroska instead of .mkv. And I must said that's not professional and the good practice is to have an .mkv.
It would be nice if it was modified in the next milestone.
Thanks.
