I was able to get libdrizzle-versioning using the build in comment #4
running in my test client on centos 5. It may be viable to do a release
that only requires ./configure && make

Bug description:
  I'm trying to build libdrizzle-versioning on Centos5. It looks like
  libdrizzle requires a newer autoconf. I hope CentOS 5 is a supported
  version. Henrik suggested I file this bug.

  $ ./bootstrap.sh
