Title:
Documentation for Section 14 Clip properties needs updating and
clarification
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
Fix Committed
Bug description:
In 1.42.2, right-clicking on a clip brings up a menu with a Properties item. Clicking on that item brings up the General tab.
That tab has an Item "Position on timeline" that is not mentioned or shown in the current documentation. I would suggest this description: "The second in the timeline at which this clip begins to play."
The Length tab has boxes labeled "in" and "out". I would suggest this description:
The In time is the second in the clip where it begins to play, and the Out time is the second in the clip where it ceases. These times are relative to the beginning of the clip, not of the timeline. For still pictures, the In time should be 0.00 and the Out time should be the number of seconds it plays.
I was working with still pictures and presumed that the In and Out
times referred to the timeline. Needless to say, that caused a lot of
frustration which the above suggestions would have avoided.
The OpenShot documentation is in general very clear. Many thanks for
this good, well documented program!!
