[Bug 1005823] Re: Upgrading to mythtv 0.26 broken
Hi,
I did an "aptitude update && aptitude full-upgrade" but for some unknown
reason that didn't complete the mythtv upgrade. Then I also marked all
upgradeable packages in Synaptic to no avail. So I've just followed your
suggestion of doing "apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade" and that
did work! (I haven't used apt-get since some time ago).
There must be some difference between aptitude and apt-get that I'm
missing somehow .
So feel free to mark this report as invalid.
Thanks a lot
Antonio

Title:
Upgrading to mythtv 0.26 broken
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi,
Upgraded to 12.04 then from mythtv 0.25 to 0.26 using the MCC. As
mythtv seemed to keep itself in the same version (libmyth-0.25
master.20120508), I used Synaptic to manually update libmyth-0.25 to
libmyth-0.26 (still master.20120508). Now I have several packages
updated (ie mythtv, mythtv-backend-master, mythtv-database... to
20120528) but many of the main packages are being kept in 20120508
(mythtv-frontend/backend, libmyth-0.26, mythbrowser, etc.). Forcing
version didn't work as it seems there is not an upper version
available for those packages that Synaptic could use (however the
changelogs show that upper versions exist).
Regards,
Antonio
