OK, I found it.  For me it was under /myhomedir/.mythtv/themes/Mythbuntu.
 After editing this, my dates are now showing up.  Thanks for pointing me
in the right direction.

  I have noticed that with the Mythbuntu theme 25.14 under the Watch
  Recordings section that the date no longer shows up for recordings on
  the right side only the recorded time.  I have noticed this on both my
  frontends running 12.04 with MythTV 0.25 + latest fixes, but can't
