Title:
  [needs-packaging] Cinelerra - confusion between HV and CV versions
  video editor, and Lumiera

Status in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in Debian GNU/Linux:
  New

Bug description:
  Notes:
  Please excuse this being labeled as a package request, because although it is not a package request - it is highly relevant to some package requests.
  Please sort out the different versions of Cinelerra (and the duplicates) , possibly as per suggestions below.

  Important Notice

  Cinelerra video editor has two (almost 3) different versions.
  They are both called Cinelerra, but one is made by the original authors Heroine Virtual (at their Heroine warrior web site), and the other is made by Community Version.

  These programs have both been mentioned in needs packaging, but it is
  not clear that they are two very similar, but different programs.

  In the interests of users who want to be certain which version they
  are using, and may be even be able to have both types on their PC, may
  I suggest that the two similarly named programs get given distinctive
  names like;

  a) Cinelerra CV , for the Community Version
  and
  b) Cinelerra HV , for the Heroine Virtual version.

  Note:
  Cinelerra CV ver 3 is a total re-write of the program, and has (conveniently) been renamed to "Lumiera", so that it will suffer no confusion with its predecessors, and cousins.

  URL;
  a) Cinelerra CV - http://cvs.cinelerra.org

  b) Cinelerra HV - http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3

  c) Lumiera - http://lumiera.org/ http://lumiera.org/development.html
