Use the save tool for keep a version of your stuff.

Do you use the good version of FFmpeg ? See here how to do that :

If you have the same issue, run openshot in a console and copy/paste the output.

  Opeshot video editor closes while cancelling export

Bug description:
  OS: Linux Mint 12
  openshot video editor cloes when we cancel the expert and looses all the data created.
  The icons on the top vanishes automatically and comes up when we move the mouse there.
  Version of openshot: 1.4.0
  Installed it via software manger.
  Unable to find the version of libmlt
