Title:
No locale setting for mythtv-backend causes segfault scanning some
media
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Fix Released
Status in MythTV:

Bug description:
I'm seeing the following crash while the mythtv backend is scanning
media:
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/8878
Looks like it's (partly) due to mythbackend running without a UTF-8
locale; apparently the backend process needs one to work.
Adding the following to /etc/init/mythtv-backend.conf fixes the
segfault for me:
env LC_ALL=en_AU.UTF-8
However, this is specific to my location, Is there something we can
use for a generic UTF-8 -enabled option?
