[Bug 1059480] Re: title with alpha channel picture is not savable

I think there are two issues here.

Firstly, the bad artifact is visible from within the preview in the
Nautilus File Manager, so either there is something there in the svg
file, or whatever SVG rendering engine that is used by the Gnome
subsystem is processing it incorrectly. The preview window in the title
viewer is a standard GTK image window which I would assume uses the same
rendering engine. See attached screenshot for how your file appears in
the file manager. So I don't think we can do anything to fix that.

Secondly, the titles system in OpenShot cannot handle an SVG that has an
embedded image. The way we parse the SVG files is fairly limited, which
ultimately puts limitations on the files it can handle.

Title:
title with alpha channel picture is not savable

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
I use openshot 1.4.3 alpha on Ubuntu 11.10. I created a new title (see
attachments) caontaining an image with transparency. It is displayed
fine in Inkscape but in the openshot title preview I see a bad
artifact and I can neither save nor apply a title from this template.

This behavior seems not to occur when I do not use transparent images.
