The first thing I would do is upgrade to the latest version of MLT
(0.8.2) and see if that makes a difference. Not sure why image files
should cause a problem...

Title:
  If i render projects with many pictures Openshot crashes

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  If i render a project just with movie-clips, rendering is no problem.
  If  i add pictures, moving from center to a corner, fading in and out, rendering crashes.
  if i remove the clips and pictures from the first rendered part of the project (up to the crash), i can render the next part.
  After a while i have all the parts and have to set them together (only video->no problems).

  Using Ubuntu 12.04; open-shot 1.4.3-1; melt 0.7.6+git20120204-2
