Title:
Segmentation Fault During Preview After Applying Effect
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
New
Bug description:
Overview: This bug is very similar to bug #577821 (except different
version, different effect). While using OpenShot v1.4.0, I tried to
add the Cartoon effect to a video (just to mess around) and, after
adding the effect and attempting to preview, OpenShot crashes with
'Segmentation Fault'.
System Information:
- Linux Distribution and Version: ArchLinux 3.1.1-1-ARCH (though I don't know how relevant this is because of the rolling releases)
- Installation Method: pacman
- Version of OpenShot: 1.4.0
Reproduce Steps:
- Run 'openshot' from the terminal.
- In the 'Project Files' tab, right click and select 'Import Files'.
- Browse to the file you want to work with (I used an MP4) and click Open. The video appears in the list.
- Drag the video to track 1 (I dragged it slightly off start to illustrate my point).
- Change to the 'Effects' tab.
- Drag the Cartoon effect to the video on track 1.
- Click Play in the Video Preview window. The video will play (blank) until it reaches the clip with the effect.
- Note the 'Segmentation Fault' that occurs.
I've attached the output from the above recreate where I ran 'openshot
> openshot_bug_output.txt 2>&1' and recreated the problem. I attempted
to use the openshot debug script, but this appears to be specifically
for Debian-based distributions (it was looking for dpkg on my system).
