Title:
  Crash to log-in screen when opened

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  New

Bug description:
  Installed OpenShot 1.4.3-1 from Synaptic Package Manager today. After installation, opened program and attempted to create a new project. OpenShot crashed and caused the OS to force quite to Log-in screen. Regardless of any attempt, when the application is opened, it crashes and causes a force close to the Log-in screen.
  These FC's occur between 3-15 sec. The last attempt caused the system to freeze and required me to perform a force shutdown.

  Gnome 3.6.3
  Kernel 3.8.029-generic
  Melt 0.8.8
  FFmpeg NOT INSTALLED

  Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427 (32 bit)
  Intel Core Duo 1.73Ghz T2250
  2 Gigs ram
  No error log/report has been generated.
