The latest update of chromium on trusty restored the functionality for
me.

Bug description:
  Running version 28 under raring Recently closed showed the set of tabs as it should. 
  Running 28.0.1500.71-0ubuntu3 on 13.10 I no longer get any tabs under the recently closed menu item under history.
