[Bug 1351786] Re: Some DVB-t Live TV Channels Have No Sound

Hi,

I'm having almost similar symptoms on my Mythbuntu 14.04.1 setup. I
recently upgraded from 12.04.4 which worked flawlessly, so this has
something to do with software.

On my setup there is no sound when starting live TV, but it can be
partly fixed by selecting the same channel again (up/down + enter). This
way I'm able to get sound, however the sound will be gone again in short
while. Commercials for example will trigger this behaviour easily. You
could try it on your setup if you can replicate this.

Other thing is that there are serious problems with changing channels
within same multiplex, I have to change channel to other multiplex and
then to desired channel on previous multiplex to be able to change
channel.

Using Mythbuntu 14.04.1, Asus M3N78-EM motherboard w/ GeForce 8300 IGP
and Hauppauge WinTV Nova TD500 2x dual DVB-T

Title:
Some DVB-t Live TV Channels Have No Sound

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
  New

Bug description:
  Mythbuntu 14.04
  MythFrontend Version: fixes/0.27 (v0.27.3-111-g5c76f33)
  Zarlink MT352 DVB-T USB Tuner

Sometime during July 2014, I suddenly found that some DVB-T Live TV
channels (and any recordings associated with those channels) did not
  have any sound.

Prior to this problem occurring, I have been using this hardware
configuration for the MythTV system for over two years and had sound
on all live TV channels and on all recordings.

I realise that if you are not in Australia this bit of information
will not be much use to you, but - the problem occurs on the following
Free To Air channels; All SBS channels, Some (not all) ABC24 and ABC1
  Channels, and some Win channels.

I suspect that a recently installed update may have caused this sound
problem. I have deleted all tuned channels and re-tuned, and this has
had no effect on the problem.

Atached for your info are copies of mythbackend.log and
  mythfrontend.log.

If there are any other logs or information you require, or diagnostics
you'd like me to try, please email me.

  Hope you can help.......

  Many thanks,

  Roy
