We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that upstream believes this to be fixed in the latest
version. Could you please verify if this issue still exists in the
latest version?

Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a
new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer
versions.

Title:
  HDMI Sound not working with TV, just noise

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  I had HDMI sound working fine with my NVidia based mythbuntu box in
  both jaunty and karmic, but after the lucid upgrade I am getting
  horrible white noise from live TV. MythMusic and other sound programs
  are working fine, only TV playback (both live and recorded) is bad.

  What is odd is that at one point it just started working, but after a
  reboot it is broken again. I have tried several asound.conf files but
  no luck.
