[Bug 800987] Re: LCDproc server set to display server status by default
We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that upstream believes this to be fixed in the latest
version. Could you please verify if this issue still exists in the
latest version?
Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a
new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer
versions.

Title:
LCDproc server set to display server status by default
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
I have recently installed mythbuntu 11.04 on a machine that has an iMon based LCD display.
By default the LCDproc service is configured to rotate the 'ServerScreen' (the "Welcome to LCDproc" message) as part of it's normal display.
This is somewhat annoying as every 10 seconds the display flashes "Welcome to LCDproc" whilst mythlcdserver is using the display.
The cause is /etc/LCDd.conf has the following directive set to "on" by
default:
# If yes, the the serverscreen will be rotated as a usual info screen. If no,
# it will be a background screen, only visible when no other screens are
# active. The special value 'blank' is similar to no, but only a blank screen
# is displayed. [default: on; legal: on, off, blank]
ServerScreen=on
The fix is to set it to 'no' or 'blank'
ServerScreen=no
Suggest that mythbuntu provide an alternate configuration for LCDproc
as all we want to see is mythlcdservers' content on the LCD :)
