[Bug 1199164] Re: Mythfrontend crashes with no error when playing Live TV, Recording or Video
We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that upstream has moved on to a new version and believes
this to be fixed. Could you please verify if this issue still exists in
the latest version?
Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a
new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer
versions.

Title:
Mythfrontend crashes with no error when playing Live TV, Recording or
Video
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Expired
Bug description:
When any attempt is made to play Live TV, a Recording, or a video,
mythfrontend crashes back to the desktop. apport does not catch the
crash. If I run mythtv from the command line, and attempt to play
any recording, I am able to catch the attached error on the command
line. A copy of this command line output follows:
The program 'mythfrontend.real' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
(Details: serial 140 error_code 8 request_code 149 minor_code 13)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
This installation worked correctly until a recent block of updates was installed.
The output of mythfrontend --version is attached.
