[Bug 1972762] Re: Firefox snap won't open files in /tmp or ~/.cache -- affects many apps

WebUSB is not working with the Chromium snap.

This prevents Google's Android Flash Tool from being used. The Android
Flash Tool allows users to flash Android Factory and OTA Images.
GrapheneOS also uses WebUSB for installing (and notes that it is broken
on Ubuntu).

It also seems USBMidi isn't working, which prevents midi devices from
being used with a lot of web software. This is especially important for
Ubuntu Studio, which is meant to make these sorts of things more
accessible.

The Chromium-based limitations are pushing people to opt for the non-
snap Chrome (or even Edge) which is much less secure, more invasive,
privacy unfriendly, and non-free software.

** Description changed:

Many apps put files in /tmp or ~/.cache to then open those files with
other apps. Files won't open from those locations with the Firefox snap.
Just within a few days of using, I've found quite a few apps that don't
work as they should or seem broken as a result.

  * Any archive manager (xarchive uses /tmp, file-roller and engrampa use ~/.cache, peazip uses ~/.ptmp)
  * Catfish (uses /tmp also for opening files in archives)
  * fish (fish_config uses an html file in /tmp and uses a browser for configuration)
+
+ Other things not working:
+
+ * WebUSB (Used in Chrome, Edge, etc for securely interacting with USB
+ devices, installing and updating Android devices, etc)

** Summary changed:

- Firefox snap won't open files in /tmp or ~/.cache -- affects many apps
