[Bug 587939] Re: dc++ crashes randomly, starting recently

I know that now and I put up a cleaned up post (without the error logs
and bug-talk) about it there since eMTEE wanted me to elaborate on some
things.

When it comes to the UI stuff, I do agree with the updated UI elements
and graphics. I'm only talking about small changes of the positioning
that would make it more fitting to those of us who've used DC++ in some
form more than 5 years, often longer. I threw together a mockup based on
the new design to illustrate what I mean but I'll save that for the
anwers section post below.

Let's move the discussion here:
https://answers.launchpad.net/dcplusplus/+question/113043

As a side note I think the "I guess you want to dwell and live in the
past" comment might have been a little uncalled for. I do infact help
developers of Android apps with updated icons or UI resources for hdpi
devices and the likes, something often very appreciated. I consider that
the very opposite of dwelling in the past. :)

Status in DC++: Invalid

Bug description:
OS version: Windows 7 Professional (all the latest updates)
DC++ version: 0.699 (I don't agree with some of the latest UI changes)

I've been running DC++ 0.699 in Vista (since it went RTM) and until just recently, Windows 7 (since it hit RTM) with no problems what so ever. It has worked fine for weeks at a time. No it can't handle more than 15-20 minutes without crashing. I have yet devised a way to reproduce the bug. I'm working on that. I should proably also say that I "disabled" the version check by routing dcplusplus.sourceforge.net to localhost since there was no way to disable it in the Settings. All I know is that the intruction at 0x00459766 is TEST AL,AL but since it won't allow me to debug it (gets stuck) I don't know what it's supposed to compare.
