Re: [Question #131072]: Mono icon for Ubuntu
Question #131072 on LinuxDC++ changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/linuxdcpp/+question/131072
Steven Sheehy posted a new comment:
Is the mono icon specific to Ubuntu or would we package it for all
Debian-like distros? Assuming we could get a mono icon (I haven't seen
the icon artist since he made them), it would be difficult to install an
icon specific to Ubuntu. It would probably have to be replaced manually
by ubuntu package maintainers if that's the case.
Besides, I'm pretty sure that Ubuntu would frown upon linuxdcpp having
any status icon at all since their trend is to simplify and remove app
specific status icons from the tray. I've always felt our status icon
was pretty useless since it didn't provide much value besides the rarely
useful "minimize to tray" feature. With Ubuntu's Unity window manager
(default in 11.04...yay...) it will probably become even more pointless
since there is no task area and only a sidebar dock with an icon for
each app which reproduces the "minimize to icon" feature.
