Title:
Resource usage problems, v.70x
Status in DC++:
New
Bug description:
Whenever I am downloading files, the DC++ Client program consumes 100%
of the cpu, slowing all other programs down drastically. For example,
as DC++ is running while I am typing this bug report, this text field
in the browser window only updates every 1 - 1.5 seconds, requiring me
to type "blind".
In DC++ I have the Download Queue, Finished Downloads, Network
Statistics, and 5 hub windows open at all times, and often 2-3 PM
windows.
The DC++ Client is not hashing any files in the background while this
is happening.
This behavior is demonstrated any time I am downloading files, and is
worst when starting or renewing a dowload from idle. It is present
immediately after starting or restarting the DC++ program.
This occurs with both version .706 and .705.
There do not appear to be signifigant memory leaks when running DC++
for several days at a time, that is, the Mem Usage and VM Size for the
DCPlusPlus.exe process do not increase more than 10% or so from where
they start.
I use Windows XP SP2 (or SP3 for the past 2 days, it doesn't appear to
make a difference).
I have a slightly older computer: CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3000 (32-bit),
RAM: 1GB PC3200 DDR, Video: ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro/Raedon 7000VE
PCI (DC++ client is displayed on my secondary video card and monitor).
It's not the fastest machine in the world, but it should be more than
adequate for what it's doing.
