the dev plugin is merely a proof of concept. it was created hastily and
its purpose is to make sure certain elements of the plugin interface
work as expected, as well as showing how one can create additional
windows with a plugin.

to address your request, 1) the dev plugin could be improved to have
predefined filters that match searches, or 2) a new plugin could be
created to specifically catch search requests.

in any case, this is now beyond the scope of DC++ itself so i am closing
this.

  Please bring back 'Search Spy'

Status in DC++:

Bug description:
  'Search Spy' is not available in version 0801. The DevPlugin that replaced it is very complex and confusing for an average user. In addition when the DevPlugin is closed, the whole program crashes and i get this message "DC++ has stopped working". Im using Windows7 Home Premium 32-bit.
  Planning to use a previous version of DC++ just to get the 'Search Spy' feature.
