Re: starting the screencasts

hey guys,
first off i just want to express how excited i am that i am a part of
this team, i have been wanting for a long time to get involved with
something like this.

second, how do we want to get started?
i propose that we start at the beginning, with how to's for beginners,
simple tasks that we all take for granted. this way if there are any
others like me that have never done a screencast, we can kind of learn
the ropes. then as time progresses we can do more complex things, like
compiling from source, using alien, and things like that.

what do you think?

Excellent idea RIcky, also perhaps we can come up with a few good apps to do something like this? I know of some in the repos but I'd be interested in hearing what everyone else is doing and how they're doing it. Also, when would we want to release something like this? Once a week, once every two weeks? Do the bosses have any input on when they want releases? I'm pretty sure I can manage once a week since its just a matter of performing the actions. Do we want voice guided steps to go along with it?

A big question I see in the IRC is how to install the system properly and how to do the partitioning. I think a screencast of this would be a perfect beginning (since after all, it is the beginning). And then we can do one showing off the wonders of mintUpdate. That would be a good start since in my mind it follows in order.

1. Install system
2. Update system

So what kind of apps do we use for this and are there any recommended settings?
