Hello all,I deeply understand your point and I agree with you. Even if this is open source, it would be nice to have a request or somebody asking for permission. In the end, they assume us for support since their own distribution is based in Lubuntu.Other than that, even if we don't ask to remove those links, I'd suggest to meet them and talk about it. There's the possibility to have a win-win situation, as long as they're willing to work with us - and not us only to them.Best Regards / Obrigado e com os melhores cumprimentos,Gustavo Silva2015-05-28 20:01 GMT+01:00 Walter Lapchynski <wxl@xxxxxxxxxx>:--As I'm sure you guys know that [LXLE][1] is a distribution based on Lubuntu LTS. I admit that I am biased in that it really seems to me that it's just be Lubuntu with some extra graphics stuff but it has been suggested to me by people familiar with the project that this is not the case. In any case, I don't really mind them existing. People obviously see some value in the distro, and that's the point behind open source anyways. What irks me is that they list us in their [support options][2] (admittedly an "external" resource) and on an unlinked [support page][3] (probably deprecated, but still…) and on their [Ubuntu wiki page][4]. So not only are they committing our resources to help support their users, but they are even going so far as to implicate Canonical will provide paid support on the unlinked page! They would be like us saying that Debian (our direct upstream) will provide support for us or that Intel will support the kernel (they are the [top contributor][5]). This is, at best, audacious.I love helping people with Linux. I am not a stranger to other distros. I also feel like I know enough to help people with their problems, but just as it's difficult to support people that install Ubuntu and then LXDE but remove LightDM in lieu of LXDM and get rid of DBus ([seriously][6]), it's even harder to support people that have Lubuntu plus some other stuff that we don't necessarily have control with or experience with. My time is limited and I know that I cannot hope to support such a situation. In fact, I would like to suggest that we ask LXLE to remove any suggestions of Lubuntu providing support for them. Are there any concerns on this or thoughts on the matter?[4]: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/lxle--@wxl | http://polka.bike
