Time zones may be a bit of an issue for email as we are all spread out. That said, I'll say simply what the issues are:
* lubuntu.net is not within control of the Lubuntu Team and cannot be updated quickly and is subsequently out of date often
* lubuntu.me was created so we'd have control over our web presence
* partially because of the ranking on Google, lubuntu.net tends to get more hits
* the existence of both websites has been confusing to users and there's been a rash of complaints about it lately
Based on this, I contacted Mario (cc'ing Simon, Julien, and Rafael) to get one of several things to happen:
* give the Lubuntu Team access to edit content at lubuntu.net
* set up a redirect from lubuntu.net to lubuntu.me
* reference lubuntu.me as the official website with a link
* give the domain over to the Lubuntu Team
So far none of those things have happened. There has been little discussion about it. My emails were answered minimally or not at all.
Hello Mario, Lubuntu admins,
I've been made aware of some conflicts going in within the Lubuntu
project and currently playing out in a bug report[1]. I would like to
resolve this before it gets out of hand, as we're all on the same team
and we all want Lubuntu to be a vibrant and successful project. So I'm
offering my time to act as a mediator between you guys, so we can work
together towards a common goal in an open and friendly fashion.
We can do this quickly over a hangout, or via email, but let's start the
process now and please focus on collaboration and not casting blame.
